Captain Sean Wilkin from HCSO is the County Emergency Manager and has the responsibility of scheduling the tier one and two vaccinations.  In this interview Cpt. Captain Sean Wilkin is a native Nevadan who was raised in Reno, Nevada. He began his law enforcement career in 2002 after being honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps. During his career, Captain Wilkin has served as a patrol officer, K-9 Handler, Field Training and Department Training Officer, Narcotics Task Force Detective, Deputy Coroner, Patrol Sergeant and Lieutenant. In June of 2019, Captain Wilkin was promoted to his current position by Sheriff Allen.

Captain Wilkin is in command of the Humboldt County Detention Center and the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT). He also oversees the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Management Division, Grants Management, Background Investigations, Internal Affairs and Search and Rescue. Captain Wilkin is an F.B.I. Certified Firearms Instructor and serves as a Firearms and Use-of-Force Instructor for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.

Captain Wilkin is a graduate from Great Basin College and received Honors of Magna Cum Laude, Phi Theta Kappa and the President’s Award for Academic Excellence. In addition to his Basic Post Certificate, Captain Wilkin also holds Intermediate and Advanced POST Certificates for the state of Nevada and he is a member of the Nevada Sheriff’s and Chief’s Association.
